BB guns.  Yes.  BB guns.

I have been thinking about BB guns.  What BB stands for, I do not know (hmmmm), yet recently it was in the media.  Again.

A young boy had a BB lodged in his brain after his brother “accidentally” shot him with it.  The mother had thought is just grazed his eye, yet the next morning when he was partially paralyzed (potentially permenantly), she decided there was something wrong.

This is a pretty good example of the media and their addiction to drama.  I think I watched this piece on the TODAY show, and it was handled in such dramatic fashion.  I find watching these shows basically unbearable at this point (any news programming for that matter).

So on with my thought.

WHY……WHY…..WHY in the world are we giving young children (legal age varies by state, most allow minors to use one under “adult supervision”) BB GUNS!?  THEY ARE GUNS!

Here is another loaded question for you….what do you THINK will happen when a child plays with a gun?  Most likely get HURT, and potentially seriously so.

This seems like an incredibly stupid idea all together.

Seriously people.  Would you trust your 10 year old to run around outside with a knife?  A machete?

Fact:  BB’s can break the skin.  Where it travels from there is a guess and I wouldn’t want to find out.
